A 60-second self-check
Fatigue, brain fog, snapping at people you love, feeling everything too much — these usually aren't signs that your body is doing something wrong. They're signs it's doing something right… for too long.
Here's the thing: your system is meant to live in self-healing mode — the state where healing, connection, digestion, and learning all happen — and visit alarm mode only when it's actually needed.
And alarm mode has more than one flavor. Sometimes it looks like fight-or-flight: wired, anxious, braced. Sometimes it looks like shutdown: numb, foggy, checked out, running on empty. Both are survival mode — just different strategies.
For a lot of us, survival mode became the default somewhere along the way — and we've been running on it so long it just feels like "who I am."
These 16 questions map the most common signs. Answer honestly for the past month — there are no wrong answers, and nothing here means you're broken.

One more thing before your results
Stand with your back against a wall (or in a doorway with your arms out to the sides). Put both thumbs up, arms out straight to your sides.
Look straight ahead at a spot on the wall. Now slowly bring one arm forward — just one — until, out of the corner of your eye, you can actually see your thumb. Not just a blob. Your thumb.
Notice how far forward your arm had to come before that happened. Do the same on the other side.
That distance is a live readout of your nervous system, right now. At rest, most people can see both thumbs nearly straight out to the sides — a full 180 degrees. The more your arm had to come forward before you could see it, the more your system is running in alarm mode this very moment.

Your survival mode self-check
Give yourself deep, broad, slow-but-firm squeezes all along your arms — wrist to shoulder, everywhere in between, including the joints. Deep but never painful; it should feel somewhere between neutral and awesome.
Those squeezes send proprioceptive signals to your brain — the same built-in mechanism that makes you shake your hand after smashing a finger, and the science behind why weighted blankets work. It's a 30-second downshift from chaos to calm.
The squeeze hug shifts your state. The Fascia & Nervous System Reset Kit lets you measure it — test your own nervous system, find where the tension is anchored, apply the resets, and watch the change with your own eyes. Same assessments I teach the providers I train.
Show me the Reset KitThis self-check is for education and self-reflection — it isn't a medical or psychological diagnosis, and it can't replace care from a provider who knows you.
